Hope for simple and easy healthcare options

"Maria Health has helped us find great packages which are both affordable and employee-friendly!"  - Monica Milano, HR and Administration Officer, GenerationHope

How can you offer hope in a bottle?

GenerationHope, Inc. was founded by Nanette Medved Po, who was inspired to create a worthwhile initiative that was guided both by the strengths of the private sector and the weaknesses of the non-profit sector. Her brainchild, GenerationHope, decided to focus on the building of public school classrooms because education is a proposition that everybody can get on board with. “Hope In A Bottle” is a way for Filipinos to cast their vote about what's important to them with their peso. Buying a bottle of water from them equals giving the hope of quality education to underprivileged but deserving children.

As of September 2016, they’ve already sold approximately 9M bottles and have built 29 classrooms. Their ultimate goal is to see every Filipino prosper, and they believe that it all starts with education. They mean to bring the classroom deficit to zero.

Running a nonprofit is no walk in the park, however. There are a thousand and one details that need to be attended to for it to function well. Healthcare coverage, for instance, is one important concern that nonprofits usually have problems with.

In this regard, GenerationHope is no different. One of the biggest problems they encountered to date was in finding the best health insurance. In particular, they had trouble finding a package wherein their employees can use HMO benefits to the fullest.

Things began to look up when colleagues and friends pointed their way to Maria Health. According to Ms. Milano, their Human Resources and Administration Officer, “we're very glad they were able to introduce us to great deals that are flexible, affordable, and most importantly, employee-friendly.” She shares that, “It's because of Maria Health that our employees feel less stressed and worried about medical expenses.”

GenerationHope chose to focus on public school classrooms because 88% of Filipino school children study in public schools. This gap between a need and a solution is something we at Maria Health can relate to -- 99% of businesses in the Philippines are SMEs, which is why our focus is on helping them find the best healthcare plans, fuss-free. After all, health is too important an issue to be weighed down by technical details.
